One of the largest struggles for my patients is obtaining insurance coverage for GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy, to treat PCOS and obesity.

    • There are a few strategies available, such as using your HSA (Health Savings Account). Many employers offer this high-deductible insurance plan, which allows you to deduct tax-free funds from your paycheck to this card, which can be used for any health-related services.

    • Another strategy is forgoing traditional insurance entirely and
      choosing a health sharing membership that includes a weight loss
      program. Expenses related to weight reduction are considered pre-
      membership medical conditions and are subject to the sharing phase-
      in period. Sharing for these expenses begins in the second year of
      membership to obtain up to $3000 reimbursement for any weight
